Hara Museum ARC Members-Only Event – Art in Town: Ryutaro Takahashi Collection

Date(s) : June 24 (Saturday), 2023

Time : 16:25

This members-only event will take participants to the WHAT MUSEUM in Tennozu, Tokyo to view the ART de Cha Cha Cha − Exploring the DNA of Japanese Contemporary Art − from the Takahashi Ryutaro Collection exhibition. Ryutaro Takahashi, a psychiatrist, began collecting contemporary art in earnest in 1997. Currently boasting more than 3,000 pieces, his collection is widely recognized as one of the foremost assemblages of contemporary art in Japan. Though the collection has been featured before at various venues throughout the nation, the current collection show features some 20 pieces that have never been shown in any previous show. Participants will be treated to a guided tour by the curator in charge of the exhibition. Also on view will be Masayoshi Nojo’s Immerse yourself in the transitory nature, a work created on-site as part of the museum’s Open Creation of Art project.
