SHOP@CAFE Jewelry Forest : From Natural to Pop by NOBORU SHIONOYA

SHOP@CAFE is a continuing series of small exhibits that showcase popular and trendy goods under the catchphrase “Living with Art.” This summer, we are showcasing the work of Noboru Shionoya, a jewelry artist who has won high acclaim in the worlds of theater, cinema and fashion.
What are the usual places where jewelry is seen?
Worn by women as a fashion accent?
In the showcase of a department store? Stored and forgotten in a drawer?
At SHOP@CAFE, jewelry takes the leading role as inhabitants of a forest, each piece proclaiming its unique existence while joined as one with natural wood, natural stone, metal, rhinestones, feathers, plastic and even yarn bobbins.
As an added bonus, Noboru Shionoya and the Café d’Art have collaborated to create an original selection of “jewelry sweets” that will be available for the duration of the event. (Each order comes with a beautiful postcard.)
