Membership Program

The Hara Museum ARC Membership Program is designed to provide you with a deeper experience of contemporary art and all that it encompasses. As a member, you can participate in various membership activities with the knowledge that your contribution will help support many more activities in the future.

Members are able to attend lectures and talks by artists and curators, workshops, performances, concerts, and other events at special rates or with priority reservation privileges. Members also receive a 5% discount at the Museum Shop and Café d' Art. Upon presentation of their membership card, members, along with one guest, can enter the museum free of charge at any time for an entire year. (*In case of a Friends Single membership, free admission for the member only.)

There are a number of membership categories, each with its own set of benefits. In addition to the basic and most popular Friends category, there are also the Individual Supporting Memberships which, compared to the Friends category, provide a higher level of support along with wider benefits, and the Corporate Supporting Membership for corporations seeking to contribute to society through the promotion of art and culture.

Friends Membership

Friends is the basic and most popular membership category.

Friends Single 5,000 yen / Friends Pair 8,000 yen

Benefits

  • Membership card valid for one year
    * Upon presentation of the card, free admission and 5% discount at the Museum Shop and Cafe d’Art
    * In case of the Friends Single membership, applicable only for the member
    * In case of the Friends Pair membership, applicable for the member and up to one guest
  • Membership letter delivered by email
  • Priority reservation and special rates for events
  • Invitations to members-only guided tours of the Open-View Storage and exhibitions, etc.
    * In case of the Friends Single membership, applicable only for the member
    * In case of the Friends Pair membership, applicable for the member and up to one guest
    * Reservation required
    * In principle, tours are held on the first Saturday of each month when the museum is open. This schedule, however, is subject to change.

Supporting Members

The Supporting membership category is for those who wish to provide a higher level of support for the museum and its activities. In addition to Individual Supporting memberships, there are also Corporate Supporting memberships.

Partner 30,000 yen / Associate 50,000 yen / Patron 200,000 yen

Benefits Common to All Supporting Membership Categories

  • Membership card valid for one year

  • Complimentary admission tickets: 10 tickets
  • Information on special events for Supporting members only
  • Invitations to members-only guided tours of the Open-View Storage and exhibitions, etc

    * Reservations required

  • Private guided tour of the Open-View Storage.
    * One tour per year. Please contact us as early as possible regarding your desired date and time.

Additional benefits

  • Associate: Invitation to join a bus tour (one time per year, for the member and one guest)
  • Patron： Private use of Café d’Art (one time per year, by appointment)

    • * To mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, new membership in the Associate and Patron categories has been temporarily suspended.
