Works by Izumi Kato are being featured in the Kankai Pavilion as part of the on-going exhibition IZUMI KATO-LIKE A ROLLING SNOWBALL at Hara Museum ARC.
Within the Kankai Pavilion’s tranquil space, 27 of Kato’s works, ranging from new work using fabric to lithographs and sculptures made of stone and wood, appear for the first time within a Japanese-style setting with masterpieces of traditional art selected by Kato himself. We invite you to experience the charm of Kato’s works revealed under intimate illumination that emulate the ambience of Japanese wax candles, in contrast to the bright open spaces of the contemporary galleries.
